Every year hundreds of sail and power boats are delivered by professional captains up and down the coast and all over the world for that matter. We, and affiliate delivery companies, are always looking for sailors to share these trips with. Experience is a plus but not required to get aboard and there is a wide range of levels of difficulty. Everything from half day trips though the Ballard Locks to sailing offshore race boats from Hawaii to the mainland, all of which present valuable educational experiences.
At Griffin we have a educational program geared specifically toward preparing people for blue water and coastal passage making and while the aim of our advanced sailing program is to prepare sailors with the skills necessary to safely sail their own boats offshore our captains and instructors are often are called upon to join the owner of a yacht for support on maiden passages or delivery.  By having an experienced captain who has an educational background aboard our clients get their boat moved and the confidence that comes with close oversight and instruction. If the vessel is eligible and other students can join, the delivery can often be fully covered by the school.
Those that already have experience and would like to gain more by crewing on deliveries are encouraged to submit their sailing CV and a little about their background so we can connect them with a complimentary delivery crew.
