What We Do

Griffin Bay Adventures is a sailing and general boat handling school located in Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands, Washington State. We offer instruction on your boat or ours. Mariners seeking to expand their horizons either in the wonderful cruising grounds of the San Juan Islands Archipelago or offshore in the Pacific Ocean, can find growth opportunities with Griffin Bay. We offer American Sailing Association Certification from 101 to 118 as well as RPBA or Powerboat instruction. 

Yacht Delivery

Meet your yacht in your favorite cruising grounds! From as little as $500 a day GB can provide a licensed captain and crew to move your yacht for you.

If your vessel is eligible and GB can offer a course aboard your boat, the delivery and all associated expenses could be covered by the class. People new to coastal passage-making often choose to accompany the delivery captain and crew to learn their boat better in a controlled educational environment.

Instruction

Learn how to sail, how to dock, and get the best out of your boat with the best ASA instructors in the NW. We offer learn-and-cruise courses where you can live aboard and earn ASA 101 to 104 in a week while sailing in the San Juans. We also offer private instruction aboard your own boat where we coach docking or performance sailing on the boat that counts; yours! We also offer advanced coastal cruising instruction on deliveries with the guidance of experienced delivery captains and ASA instructors.  

Skippered Charter

For those who want a private charter and captain to help them explore the beautiful NW waters, this is a great way to see the Salish sea.  You can either sit back and relax or plan an exotic adventure tailored to you and your crews interests.
